Oliver Laric, Hugh Scott-Douglas and Ned Vena on sale at Sotheby’s Contemporary art day auction (October 13th)

- Oliver Laric, Schengen visa hologram, tamper evident security hologram stickers on acrylic glass, 175 by 100cm.; 68 7/8 by 39 3/8 in. Executed in 2012. Estimate: 10,000 – 15,000 gbp
- Ned Vena, Untitled, signed and dated 2012 on the overlap spray rubber on canvas 213 by 147.3cm.; 83 7/8 by 58in. Estimate: 12,000 – 8,000 gdp
Of the 272 lots that will go under the hammer at Sotheby’s next October 13th – session 1 from 10:30 am and session 2 from 2:00 pm – we suggest these three artworks. Even if it’s generally better to spend time and look for pieces on the first market, those are pretty good in shape, date and dimensions and, moreover, they are not that expensive. Laric is born in 1981, Douglas 1988, and Vena 1982, all of them have chance to grow in the market. But be careful, never buy just for money and without a focus: art takes revenge against who doesn’t love her.
