To the new Jeff’s megamaison in NYC Damien replies from Ilfacrombe with 750 new buildings
After a long silence, and while his friend Jeff is entertaining New York City’s summer tourists with a retrospective exhibition at the Whitney Museum and probably still facing his neighbors’ complaining about the recently approved project of his new huge megamaison (11 and 13 East 67th Street), Damien Hirst has come back with a breaking news that since a few days has been furiously circulating on the web.
His real estate ambitious project including 750 new buildings – with playgrounds, shops, offices, and a health center – has been approved by Ilfracombe city council. “Southern Extension”, that is the name of the project, follows Hirst’s sixty-five foot sculpture of a pregnant woman which he installed in the town’s harbor. Miss “Verity”, that is the title of the artwork, has been loaned to the seaside town in 2012 for 20 years by the artist.
